Come FOCUS on fun with friends! This program is for adults looking for an active way to spend their weekday. This group spends their days enjoying grocery shopping, cooking, volunteering, exercising, learning about nutrition, exploring the community, socializing with friends, playing games, and having fun. Some eligibility requirements do exist because of the level of activity. For more information about whether FOCUS might be a good fit for you, please contact the HISRA office. You may register for one day a week or up to all four. Chosen days must remain the same throughout the year. Registration can occur at anytime based on program availability. Priority registration is given to current participants, for more information call the HISRA office.
Mondays
FOCUS will meet at HISRA and spend their day doing the grocery shopping for the week’s meals and snacks; discussing current events; exploring Peoria; and other activities such as art and physical activity.
Tuesdays
FOCUS participants will meet at Shore Acres Clubhouse or at HISRA at 9:00 AM. Participants dropped off at HISRA will be transported to Shore Acres at 9:00 AM and return to HISRA by 3:00 PM. FOCUS will spend their day in the Chillicothe area exploring, volunteering, preparing lunch, exercising and discussing current events.
Wednesdays
FOCUS participants will meet at HISRA at 9:00 AM. FOCUS will spend their day exploring Peoria, volunteering, and discussing current events. Every Wednesday afternoon FOCUS will meet with professional trainers at the Riverplex to exercise.
Thursdays
FOCUS participants will meet at Morton Freedom Hall or at HISRA at 9:00 AM. Participants dropped off at HISRA will be transported to Morton Freedom Hall at 9:00 AM and return to HISRA at 3:00 PM. FOCUS will enjoy their day in Morton and the surrounding area by exploring, volunteering, utilizing the Indoor Soccer Facility, and preparing lunch.
